The male endemic Xantus’s Hummingbird is just so darn handsome, you can’t help but photograph him every chance you get.

These Costa’s Hummingbirds were actually engaging each other.  This is the first time I have observed actual communication between the male and female while perched. Normally it’s the rapid winged, bill fighting death dive maneuvers.

I’m always amazed how colorful our little common House Finches are.
